Workforce Readiness – Going Beyond the Technology: How Business Professionals Can Impact Tomorrow’s Workforce
Earlier this year, U.S. News and World Report offered up an article on the new concerns of an evolving workforce. It points out that younger generation workers have been raised and educated using advanced technology and social tools for their work and networking activities.
The last three weeks have been especially difficult for those of us on Long island. Hurricane Sandy left its mark and the destruction and damage is virtually everywhere. As a company headquartered here and one that provides contingent workers to regional businesses, we have heard our share of storm disaster stories as well as some inspiring tales of people rising above the challenges.
There has been a dominant trend in Corporate America for many companies to turn over the responsibility of writing their firm’s contingency search agreements to the corporate legal department. The results are technically proficient contracts, that are now sadly deficient when it comes to true “Human Resources.”
When I was a kid I dreaded Labor Day because it meant summer was over and the first day of school was just two days away. As an adult, I kind of like it. It represents a day off from work and it still means that school is just two days away. (Sorry, kids.)
