TEMPORARY & CONTRACT WORKERS IMPACT THE WORKFORCE

National Staffing Employee Week 2024
American Staffing Association

Lloyd Staffing, headquartered in Melville, NY, is proud to join staffing agencies nationwide in celebrating National Staffing Employee Week from September 9-15. This week, established by the American Staffing Association, recognizes the invaluable contributions of millions of temporary and contract employees working across the U.S. In New York state alone, an average of 116,000 temporary and contract employees work each week, generating an impressive annual payroll of $9.9 billion.

These positions span all industries and professions, with the majority being full-time roles. Many of these jobs also offer a pathway to permanent employment, according to research by the American Staffing Association. The contract and temporary help industry, comprising approximately 14.6 million individuals, has proven to be a flexible work option offering work/life balance and numerous other benefits.

Jason Banks, CSP and Principal of Lloyd, stated, “National Staffing Employee Week salutes the temporary and contract employees who contribute to the national economy. Lloyd is proud to be part of an industry that provides jobs to employees, flexible workforce solutions to businesses, and contributes to the economy. We have been supporting candidate talent and businesses for over 53 years.”

CELEBRATING LLOYD’S 2024 HONOREE:
Jackyne Williams

Lloyd’s National Staffing Employee Week Honoree: Jackyne Williams

This year, Lloyd Staffing is delighted to name Jackyne Williams as our 2024 National Staffing Employee of the Year. Jackyne works in Lloyd’s NY region as an Administrator, handling business operations and providing essential support to our client companies. Since January 2024, she has been dedicated to multiple assignments, including a project with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and work in the food service industry with an edible oil solution.

Angelina Torres, Staffing Manager at Lloyd, praised Jackyne, saying, “She has not only been a pleasure to communicate with, but Jackyne is also always professional, reliable, and a joy to work with! Our clients consistently rave about her work ethic and the positivity she brings to the office daily. Her career path is expected to transition to a temp-to-hire conversion before the year ends, a strategy that is often ideal for job seekers looking to change careers or find the right cultural fit before accepting a permanent offer.” In temp-to-hire arrangements (also known as temp-to-perm), an individual works with a client for a designated period before transitioning to a permanent employee, allowing both the company and the associate to ensure it’s a good match. For those hiring and those seeking jobs, temp-to-perm agencies offer invaluable support.

After a successful 13 years in the mortgage industry processing loans, Jackyne was ready for a career change. She found the perfect opportunity at Lloyd. Jackyne shares, “What I love most about temping is the ability to explore various fields and the chance to discover new passions in the workplace.” Outside of work, Jackyne enjoys life as a wife and mother while nurturing her creative spirit through a side gig in interior decorating.

Thank you, Jackyne – we are incredibly proud to have you among the #LloydEmployed and wish you continued success personally and professionally. You are a true asset to Lloyd, and we are honored to have you represent us in the business community and workforce.

SINCERE THANKS
