Accounting & Finance Talent Community Brings New CSM On Board

At LLoyd we are continually making ourselves aware of candidate talent for both our clients and our own internal team. Great people fuel growth! We are pleased to introduce you to our newest staff member, Mike Munyon, Client Success Manager who will be responsible for the growth of Contract Staffing in the Accounting & Finance Talent Community.
We had a one-on-one with Mike recently, to get to know him better and share his story.

How long have you been in the staffing industry?
I started my Staffing career in March of 2016 so I have almost 5 years of staffing experience. I started as a Staffing Consultant and worked my way up to Assistant Market Manager in my first recruiting firm.

Why do you like what you do?
I love the staffing industry because it allows me the opportunity to impact candidates’ careers, as well as provide companies with a strategic workforce solution that helps them grow and expand with every placement.

What do you think is the most valuable trait or skill a Recruiter/CSM must possess?
I believe it’s the ability to gather and process information quickly. What I mean by that is there is always new or relevant information needed to be successful whether it be from a client, a candidate or a professional/personal development standpoint. A recruiter must be an expert in his or her subject area and that requires a constant  ear to the industry and market. I feel no two searches or placements are the same and the ever-evolving landscape of the Staffing Industry requires Recruiters to possess this skill in order to thrive. The workforce, new skills, the technology – it all changes in the blink of an eye. Look what happened with COVID.   There are a TON of other relevant skills, but I believe this is by far one of the more important ones.

What’s the best piece of advice you give to job candidates?
To be persistent and make maximum use of networking. If job seekers are persistent with their search by applying to as many relevant open positions they identify, eventually they will land a position. Additionally, if they network with friends, previous colleagues, and recruiters they will have a better chance of getting their credentials in front of potential hiring managers. Consistent persistence and constant networking are two driving factors to go from unemployed to gainfully employed.

What do you wish you clients (employers) knew about your process or why you are an asset to their hiring needs?
Corporate clients and prospective clients should know that I am an extension of their organization and I will work extremely hard and diligent with them through a set process and LLoyd’s Q Approach for identifying and vetting talent. I am with them every step of the way with constant updates and follow up throughout this collaborative hiring process.

If you had a super power what would it be?
I think I would want to have super human intelligence. I have an extreme desire for knowledge so I think it would allow me to quench that thirst!

How do you relax after work?
This is a tough question and one that is hard to answer because, let’s face it, I barely relax, but when I do take it easy it usually involves me snuggling with my three year old daughter and watching a movie or doing a fun outdoor activity together.

Last book or movie.
My last book was by David Goggins, Can’t Hurt Me.

Do you have a most memorable placement/impact experience either on a client or on talent?
Yes! I had a contract worker that worked for me for a couple years on multiple assignments. The candidate was one of my go-to persons whenever I received an order that fit his background. He would always accept and do an outstanding job and earn great client reviews. I eventually received a direct hire opening that was perfect for my long term contract worker. I immediately called him and with great pleasure I offered him the role. I prepped him for the impending interview and he aced it and received the offer with an immediate start date. During one of my follow ups with the client my contact told me to source another candidate exactly like him. Over the course of the next 6 months, my former reliable contract worker let me know that he was promoted to supervisor and was now in a leadership role and placing orders with me. I feel like I impacted his livelihood and positioned him to have a successful career and that is why I truly enjoy being an employment resource to both the Candidate and the Client.  Recruitment has a domino effect. I have a colleague who says it’s like being the George Baily character in the movie “It’s A Wonderful Life” – you never know how your actions will change someone else’s life.
