Lloyd’s Staffing Employee of the Year: Debbie Cardinale

Debbie joined Lloyd in April 2025 and has been working as a Project Engineer for one of our healthcare clients, a major New York City health system. From day one, she has proven herself to be an invaluable contributor — both to our team and to the client’s. With expertise as an HRIS and Workforce Technology Consultant, Debbie excels at optimizing HR systems, streamlining processes, and delivering insights that enhance the employee experience.

“Debbie is an experienced Project Engineer in the payroll modules of UKG and specializes in building trust and workflows in dynamic healthcare environments,” says Jason Banks, CSP, President of Lloyd Staffing. “She has been instrumental in guiding our client’s UKG payroll transformation. Debbie not only brings deep expertise and collaborative maturity, but also embodies what we value at Lloyd — trusted consultants who move client visions forward. She represents our consultant community with excellence and has earned outstanding feedback as a valued partner for the future.”

Why Contract Work? Debbie Shares Her Journey

When asked what drew her to this career path, Debbie explains: “I chose contract work for the flexibility and the opportunity to take on impactful projects where I can make a difference. It also allows me to explore opportunities before committing long-term. Lloyd stood out because of the professionalism and personal approach. My experience has been exceptional — the process was seamless, supportive, and enjoyable.”

Motivated by solving complex challenges, Debbie thrives in roles that push her to think critically, learn continuously, and design solutions that improve daily work for managers and employees. “I love knowing that the work I do makes a difference,” she says. “Helping teams solve problems, improve processes, and create better experiences is rewarding and keeps me excited every day.”

Advice from Debbie

National Staffing Employee of the Year
Fun or games, Debbie enjoys complex challenges!

Debbie encourages anyone considering contract or temporary work to stay open-minded:
“Be adaptable, open, and proactive. As fictional sports coach Ted Lasso says, ‘Be curious.’ Ask questions, step outside your comfort zone, and don’t wait for direction — anticipate needs and take initiative. Every assignment is an opportunity to learn, grow, and build relationships. Staying curious and open to new experiences will set you apart.”

Life Beyond Work

Outside of her professional accomplishments, Debbie loves the outdoors — especially hiking with friends. She feeds her creative side with DIY projects using resin and wood, and admits she’s an “adult who still enjoys building Lego sets.” Gardening is her go-to for relaxation, while summer finds her perfecting what she jokingly calls her “
