The Realities of the Rescinded Job Offer
Employers can rescind a job offer for any reason, or for no reason at all (except a discriminatory one). The “employment at will” statutes in most states aren’t just for terminations. Most job offers state or are extended with this caveat, “Contingent upon background check and drug test.”
