Announcing LLoyd’s Temporary Associates of the Year for 2019

As 2019 draws to a close, we want to thank all of our Associates for their commitment to being LLoydEmployed. Your efforts at are client companies have helped to establish LLoyd’s high level of service excellence. This year we named three “Associates of the Year” who were selected by their Talent Community based on work ethic, performance and client feedback. These are individuals who worked for us in a temporary or consulting capacity during the 2019 calendar year.

FIRST A WORD ABOUT “TEMPING” OR CONTRACT TALENT
Temporary positions cross all industry sectors and professions, and the majority are actually full-time. These jobs also can lead to permanent work, according to the American Staffing Association (ASA). In fact, permanent employment is a top motivation for choosing temporary work, and one in five Associates cite scheduling flexibility as a key reason for choosing to temp or do consulting work, according to the ASA Staffing Employee Survey.

Here are some LLoyd Staffing metrics for LLOYD’S temporary workforce:

  • 46% of new associates are referrals
  • More than 1,000 associates have been “LLoydEmployed” 2 years or longer
  • 22% of our overall assignments transition temp-to-hire (associates are hired by our client companies)
  • Over 15% of assignments are extended due to superior associate performance

Three Associates are chosen annually for these Talent Communities:
1. Florida/LLoydSouth
2. LLoydIT/National
3. New York/Long Island Metro

Congratulations to our three winning Associates who each receive a Certificate of Honor and a Visa Gift card, along with our full appreciation for being “LLoydEmployed.”    We are proud to partner with employers nationwide on their talent strategies and we want thank those who contributed their thoughts and recommendations for our selection of these 2019 Honorees.

Florida – LLoydSouth
Full Name:   Apolinar Rodriguez
Skill/title:    OTC Pharmacy Clerk
City of residence:  Miramar, FL
Length of employment with LLoyd: 2013 to present

After more than 20 years in retail as a business owner, Apolinar Rodiriguez needed to make a career change. A friend referred him to Melissa Matos, CSP, VP of Operations for LLoyd South.  After meeting him and learning about his background and skills, Melissa was able to immediately place him at Humana as an OTC (Over the Counter) Clerk where he held a long term temporary assignment until Humana hired Apolinar as a full time employee in 2016.

Then in 2018, Apolinar found he was facing another career dilemma. He was downsized because the department where he worked was moving out of state.  He returned to LLoyd and once again, we immediately placed him at Comfort Medical, LLC in a similar role to the one he had held at Humana.  This was in October of 2018 and he is currently still there on assignment.  Apolinar hopes he might transition to a full time employee again in the near future. While he has temped for LLoyd South, Apolinar has had nearly perfect attendance; he takes on overtime with no complaints and also willingly took an assignment which was more than 20 miles away from his home.

On his current field assignment, his employer manager, Sofia Ries Centeno says, “Apolinar exceeds all expectations in his role as a temporary associate. He is dedicated and reliable and always has a positive attitude. He adapts easily to rapid change in the workplace and works well under pressure. He always ensures he completes tasks in a timely manner and takes on additional responsibilities when his schedule allows. Apolinar is a pleasure to work with and a valuable member of our Team.”
