Long Island Business News is Long Island’s only publication devoted to local commerce and has been the premier source of news and data on business, economic trends and the region’s robust entrepreneurial sectors. For more than 60 years it has been the independent voice of business on Long Island.
LIBN pays special attention to the region’s leading sectors: education, health care, high-tech, financial and professional services, and commercial real estate and development. Published each Friday, the print edition includes breaking news, a weekly industry focus, a hugely popular Top 25 list, plus editorials, columnists, business calendars and other features
Each year LIBN holds its Reader Rankings Awards which celebrate and recognize top organizations in the region as voted on by LIBN readers. This is a three-part program designed to gauge the Long Island business community’s favorite companies in dozens of business-to-business categories. They ask their readers, “which businesses do you like doing business with?”
LIBN’s Associate Publisher, Jenna Natale, writes in her letter in their special Reader Rankings’ edition,“A referral is the highest of kudos for businesses of any shape or size – especially in the B2B landscape.” She continues, “Having a respected professional provide a recommendation with confidence signals an established trust that can only be earned through hard work, integrity, grit and positive results. Companies work hard to earn and maintain that status – and with innumerable competitors in the Long Island market alone, to make it to the top three is truly a credit to their success.”
WHAT DOES THE AWARD ENTAIL?
PART ONE: NOMINATION ROUND
In March and April of 2022, LIBN invited business community members to write in which Long Island-based companies they thought should be on the official Reader Rankings voting ballot. Readers could nominate once per day per category across the four-week nomination period. Nearly 39,000 write-in nominations were submitted for the 2022 Reader Rankings ballot. In the end, only the top five companies with the most write in nominations made it to the official voting ballot.
PART TWO: VOTING ROUND
With the top five companies identified, it was time to vote for the best of the best. LIBN readers and business professionals cast their votes across more than 60 categories in 11 business verticals across the four-week voting period. Readers could only cast their vote once per day per category. About 13,000 votes were cast in the 2022 competition.
PART THREE: WINNERS ANNOUNCEMENT
Today, Lloyd Staffing is very proud to announce we were the winner in the Services category for Staffing Firms/Employment Agencies – this is our 4th straight win! We thank the Long Island Business News and their readers across the region for showing your confidence and trust in us with your votes.
Says Jason Banks, CSP, LLoyd’s Executive Vice President, “This is a meaningful award because our business colleagues, the companies we work with and the talent that is part of our workforce and those we place into new opportunities, are the ones who actually cast the ballots. There is a personal insight from people who know our work and recognize LLoyd’s commitment to impactful connections between talent and employers. Thank you everyone – Last year Lloyd celebrated our 50th anniversary as a Long Island business and now in 2022, we look forward to the next fifty. The last few years have seen many changes to how we all live our lives and view the world of work. It is exciting and gratifying to have a key role in how the workforce functions and what is important to people in their professional careers.”
