Fight to Turn Type 1 into Type None Continues

LLoyd’s Placements with a Purpose Program Supports JDRF

Since 2017 LLoyd has partnered with JDRF for our Placements with a Purpose program in which a donation is allocated to JDRF for every candidate referred by LLoyd who is hired by a client and/or for every temporary associate out working on a client assignment. Says LLoyd’s president, Keith Banks, CSP, “When companies do business with LLoyd, we are helping to do something good with their investment in our services. Corporate social responsibility is a LLoyd core value and giving back to the community truly matters to us.”

This past holiday season we invited the JDRF Youth Ambassadors from the Long Island/New York Chapter to help us create our holiday eGreeting card using their artwork. These Youth Ambassadors (ages 4 to 22) are young people with T1D. They accept the responsibility to represent JDRF in public settings, steward the JDRF mission and provide diabetes awareness to the surrounding communities. We were grateful for their participation and salute them as they face their health challenges with grace and a spirit of positivity. Shown here are the young artists with the top 3 winning designs receiving their awards from LLoyd’s EVP Jason Banks, CSP, at JDRF’s Long Island HQs in Melville.

JDRF is the only global diabetes foundation with a strategic plan to end type 1 diabetes (T1D.)  As many as 3 million Americans have type 1 diabetes.  Approximately 15,000 children and 15,000 adults are diagnosed each year. JDRF collaborates with a wide spectrum of partners and is the only organization with the scientific resources, regulatory influence, and a working plan to better treat, prevent, and eventually cure T1D.

“Good health makes a stronger workforce,” says Jason Banks, “not just physically, but emotionally.  As we work with clients to help address their hiring challenges we always delve into their company culture. Wellness drives engagement and that impacts productivity and morale.  “We’ve worked with both the Long Island/NYC and South Florida Chapters of JDRF. They’ve been very helpful in educating our staff and making it more meaningful to them by introducing us to JDRF families and their Youth Ambassadors.”

Job Candidates, Temporary and Contract Talent and LLoyd Clients – all of you play a part in supporting a cure for T1D – we are grateful for the important role you play in our Placements with a Purpose program.  Thank you!
