LLoyd Names 2016 Honorees

nsew_2016-NEW-vertical

LLoyd Staffing is joining staffing firms from across the nation in celebrating National Staffing Employee Week, Sept. 19–Sept. 25.

Established by the American Staffing Association, this commemorative week honors the millions of temporary and contract employees working for U.S. staffing firms each week.

These positions are across all industry sectors and professions, and the majority are full-time. These jobs also can lead to permanent work, according to ASA research. In fact, permanent employment is a top motivation for choosing this line of work, and one in five cite scheduling flexibility as a key reason for choosing staffing, according to the ASA Staffing Employee Survey.

Here are some LLoyd Staffing metrics for our temporary workforce:

  • 49% of new associates are referrals
  • More than 1,000 associates have been “LLoydEmployed” 2 years or longer
  • 26% of our assignments transition temp-to-hire
  • Over 15% of assignments are extended due to superior associate performance

We present LLoyd’s 2016 LLoyd Associates of the Year…

LLOYD SOUTH
CherokeeCherokee Hughes is the honoree from our Fort Lauderdale location.
LLoyd placed Cherokee in October of 2015 as a temporary Insurance Clerk, at Florida Penninsula and this assignment has continued because of Cherokee’s work ethic and ability to complete with satisfaction every project she has been given. “We’ve had very positive feedback” says Melissa Matos,CSP, LLoyd’s Director of Operations who adds, “Cherokee’s commitment is demonstrated in her daily commute which averages 30+ miles driving each way. During her nearly year-long assignment, she has an almost perfect attendance record.” Cherokee tells us that she started working in a temporary capacity, “…because I was in desperate need for a job. Now I absolutely love going to work each day.” Thank you Cherokee for representing LLoyd, keep up the good work!

LLOYD STAFFING – NY METRO
sharon
Sharon Nepaul of Farmingville, NY, has been named by LLoyd HQs as the NY Metro Region’s Associate of the Year. Sharon has been temping on and off for LLoyd since 1998. During these nearly 20 years she has gone on a wide range of assignments including roles as Receptionist, Administrative Assistant and is currently serving as an Executive Assistant at Flushing Bank, where she has been working since April 2015. Sharon has even covered our front desk at LLoyd’s corporate headquarters. Wherever she is assigned, LLoyd receives rave reviews on Sharon’s performance and she undertakes all duties with a smile and a positive attitude. Says Sharon, “I started temping because I felt it was an excellent opportunity to get to know a prospective employer and gain exposure to a variety of industries.” Her advice for newbies is not to be afraid of going into a new office, “Nobody knows everything, but you probably know a lot more than you think you do!” Good job Sharon – we are proud to have you on the LLoyd team.

LLOYD IT – NATIONAL
Joe
LLoydIT has named Joseph Smoley of Greenwich, CT, as our IT Consulting Associate of the Year. Joe has been on the LLoydIT team since September 2010 when we deployed him to Cisco Systems and onto Bloomberg on Cisco’s behalf. He is a Network Consulting Engineer (NCE) with Cisco and at Bloomberg is a Resident Engineer. Joe’s engagement has been renewed and extended annually and currently he is responsible for design support for current/future Cisco projects at Bloomberg, day-to-day troubleshooting and providing version/code stability for Cisco devices. Originally part of the operations side of Bloomberg, he is now part of their corporate side and was recently given a red cape by them in appreciation for his “super hero” efforts.   His work is highly valued and we are very proud of him. Good work, Joe, thank you!

A COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE

We thank this year’s honorees for the exceptional work they do on LLoyd’s behalf and welcome our region’s businesses to contact us when they need talent; we have an inventory of skilled, vetted talent ready who will continue to play a major role in today’s flexible workplace.”
