The LLoyd blog: hidden talent.

Operation Deployment to Employment

Nationwide, more than 20 percent of young veterans are unemployed. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports increasing unemployment rates  among Gulf War Era II veterans than for the general population. Their unemployment rate averaged 11.5 percent last year, higher than the overall 9% rate for the U. S. population.  This rate reveals that although these veterans, especially the 18 to 24 year olds, possess a wide range of technical and leadership skills during their time in the military, they often find the transition to the civilian workforce difficult.

In response, LLoyd is now offering free workshops to returning soldiers at no charge – where we will review resume preparation, interviewing tips and the overall job search process.  In the month of August, these workshops will be held on Wednesdays in our corporate headquarters in Melville, NY.  Interested veterans need only attend ONE session, but they must register by emailing LISoldiers@LLoydstaffing.com.   Participation is limited.
