LLoyd’s 2018 Staffing Associates of the Year (Part 1 of 3)

As 2018 draws to a close, we want to thank all of our Associates for their commitment to being LLoydEmployed. Your efforts at are client companies have helped to establish LLoyd’s high level of service excellence. This year we named three “Associates of the Year” who were selected by their Talent Community based on work ethic, performance and client feedback. These are individuals who worked for us in a temporary or consulting capacity during the 2018 calendar year.

FIRST A WORD ABOUT “TEMPING” OR CONTINGENT TALENT
Temporary positions cross all industry sectors and professions, and the majority are actually full-time. These jobs also can lead to permanent work, according to the American Staffing Association (ASA). In fact, permanent employment is a top motivation for choosing temporary work, and one in five Associates cite scheduling flexibility as a key reason for choosing to temp or do consulting work, according to the ASA Staffing Employee Survey.

Here are some LLoyd Staffing metrics for LLOYD’S temporary workforce:

  • 49% of new associates are referrals
  • More than 1,000 associates have been “LLoydEmployed” 2 years or longer
  • 26% of our assignments transition temp-to-hire
  • Over 15% of assignments are extended due to superior associate performance

Three Associates are chosen annually for these Talent Communities:  NY/LI Metro, IT/National and FL/LLoydSouth. Congratulations to our three winning Associates who each received a Certificate of Honor, a silver LLoyd logo pin and a Visa Gift card, along with our full appreciation for being “LLoydEmployed.”

Look for one of our winners to be profiled throughout the week.  We will be highlighting their stories individually in the LLoyd blog.  We are proud to partner with employers nationwide on their talent strategies and we thank those who contributed their thoughts and recommendations for our selection of the 2018 Honorees.

NY METRO Honoree:
Raveena Persaud, Administrative Assistant/Receptionist
Brooklyn, New York

Raveena Persaud got her first job at just 15 years old and has never looked back.   An extremely hard worker, she believes her positive attitude has allowed her to meet and work with some amazing people during the span of her career.

Raveena says that she wasn’t fortunate enough to go to college, but that roadblock didn’t prevent her from accomplishing her dream job of being a Flight Attendant at both Dynamic Airlines and North American Airlines, where she logged more than a dozen years in the air. She continues to love to travel and flying remains one of her passions.

On the ground, Raveena spent time working for Wasco Funding in the area of office equipment leasing and remembered the LLoyd name from some of her transactions. When she was ready to look for work, she made LLoyd her destination and officially registered for employment with us in January 2017. Her work assignments have been steady and include Canon, Flushing Bank, Valiant and NYIT where she is currently working in an administrative capacity.

LLoyd’s team selected Raveena because they say she is friendly, outgoing and always willing to go the extra mile. She lives in Brooklyn, but commutes daily to her Long Island work assignments and remains one of LLoyd’s “Go-To Associates” – someone who says Yes, whenever and wherever she is needed.

“Raveena assisted us in a project to move 5,000 legal files from one location to another in our Loan Servicing Department. Very early on I noticed Raveena was an asset to the department; she made recommendations that we implemented to improve the process, kept impeccable notes and reports and always had a smile on her face.  During the project we were faced with numerous obstacles, and Raveena was always a part of finding a resolution.  It was a pleasure working with her and I would not hesitate to request her again for another assignment in the future.”

Joanne Orelli, SVP, Flushing Bank

Finally, when it comes to life and career, Raveena herself tells us, “I’ve accomplished more than what I thought  was possible and I’ve literally lived the true meaning of the sky‘s the limit!”

Continued success Raveena – from your friends at LLoyd!
