LLoyd Names 2022 Honorees

Last week businesses and staffing firms across the U.S. celebrated the achievements of America’s contract workforce.

Established by the American Staffing Association, this commemorative week honors the 13 million temporary and contract employees working for U.S. staffing firms each week.

These positions are across all industry sectors and professions, and the majority are full-time. These jobs also can lead to permanent work, according to ASA research. In fact, permanent employment is a top motivation for choosing this line of work, and one in five cite scheduling flexibility as a key reason for choosing staffing, according to the ASA Staffing Employee Survey.

Here are some LLoyd Staffing metrics for our temporary workforce:

  • 49% of new associates are referrals from existing associates, placed candidates and clients
  • More than 1,400 associates have been “LLoydEmployed” 2 years or longer
  • 29% of our assignments transition temp-to-hire

Lloyd is proud to feature three of our associates who have made outstanding contributions to our workforce and to the community this past year.  These honorees were chosen by our staff members for their work ethic, attitude, flexibility, and dedication.  They will each receive a $100 Amazon eGift card as a token of our appreciation.

We thank ALL of our associates for the work they do and for representing Lloyd in such a positive way out in the business community.  You are the #LLoydEmployed!

MYA BROWN – HEALTHCARE

Mya Brown is a Certified Nursing Assistant/Phlebotomist who has been a Lloyd Associate since August 2021.  “She exemplifies what we look for in a long-term contractor” says Melissa Matos, CSP, VP of Lloyd Healthcare. “We placed her as a lead Medical Assistant and she has been reliable since Day One. Our clients consistently comment about Mya’s professionalism and dedication.”

On the same assignment for over a year, Mya proves her commitment daily and always offers both Lloyd and our clients a positive attitude and work ethic.  She is one of our tireless associates who has helped get us all through Covid through her work at our client who is part of biotechnology industry.

Mya’s work assignment requires her to travel between Staten Island and Brooklyn – once she got a flat tire while leaving a work site, she then left her car, took a train and still covered her next shift for us…WOW!
Later she went back for her car.  That’s the kind of person Mya is – she does not give up and she doesn’t walk away from a challenging situation – she finds a solution and makes us proud.

JAMES O’HARA  – ADMINISTRATIVE & PEOPLE OPERATIONS

James O’Hara became one of the Lloyd Employed in December 2021.  Before joining Lloyd he was an Assistant Golf Pro at a Long Island Country Club.  James joined Lloyd because he was ready to transition to a more corporate career environment and has since worked for us at a well known national commerce site, one of our long-time Lloyd clients – 1800Flowers.

As a busy Customer Service Representative, James continues to excel in his role and we have received only the most positive feedback from our client for his demeanor and on-the-job performance.

If things continue to go well, it looks like James may join 1800Flowers in a full time capacity.  Our loss is their gain and we wish them both well!  Nominated by Mike Munyon, Director of Operations.

MARIAN RESIO – CREATIVE & DIGITAL

Marian Resio began working for Lloyd in Spring 2022.  She has put her exceptional digital design and web expertise to work for us at a well known eCommerce organization.

Marian has proved to be exceptionally patient and resilient because she had to withstand a long approval process on the client’s end.  In the current recruitment space, sometimes corporate channels get bogged down and qualified talent disappears – not so with Marian. She was true to her commitment and developed a strong rapport with her Lloyd recruiter who championed her to the client and was delighted when the move forward came through after 8 weeks of waiting. She continues to put her web design, UI/UX and developer skills to work through us and make excellent contributions to our client partner.  She is a committed and talented associate!
Nominated by Helaine Bocker, CSP, Executive Director.

A COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE
“National Staffing Employee Week salutes the temporary and contract employees who have a huge impact on our nation’s workforce,” says Jason Banks, CSP, Principal of LLoyd.Lloyd is proud to be part of an industry that provides so many benefits to employees, to businesses, and to the economy. We thank this year’s honorees for the exceptional work they do on Lloyd’s behalf and welcome our region’s businesses to contact us when they need talent; we have an inventory of skilled, vetted talent ready who will continue to play a major role in today’s flexible workplace.”
